Optimization Study of Combustion and Emissions in an Ammonia-Diesel Dual-Fuel Engine Based on Injection Strategy

本文在一台重型柴油发动机试验平台的基础上改造氨柴双燃料发动机,加装了一套电控喷氨系统,采用氨气进气道喷射,柴油缸内直喷方式,通过柴油喷射策略的变化,在中高负荷,50%氨能占比的工况下,开展了氨柴双燃料发动机的燃烧和排放特性优化研究。试验结果表明:柴油单次喷射的放热曲线呈现双峰放热曲线,通过采用柴油双喷策略,能够将双峰放热曲线融合成单峰放热,能够减低未燃氨排放,将氨燃烧效率提升10%;在双喷策略下,热效率随预喷量的增加呈现先增大后减小的倒“U”型曲线,在本文试验工况下,20%~30%预喷油量的策略,能到达最高49.1%的指示热效率。

This study involves the modification of a dual-fuel engine, using ammonia and diesel, based on a heavy-duty diesel engine experimental platform. A set of electronic control ammonia injection systems was installed, with ammonia injected into the intake manifold and diesel directly injected into the diesel cylinders. By varying the diesel injection strategy, combustion and emission characteristics of the ammonia-diesel dual-fuel engine were optimized under medium loads with a 50% ammonia energy ratio. Experimental results showed that the heat release curve of a single diesel injection exhibited a double-peak pattern. However, by employing a dual diesel injection strategy, it was possible to merge the double-peak heat release curve into a single-peak curve, reducing unburned ammonia emissions and increasing ammonia combustion efficiency by 10%. Under the dual injection strategy, thermal efficiency followed an inverted "U" shape curve with increasing pilot injection quantity. In the experimental conditions of this study, a pilot injection quantity of 20% to 30% resulted inthe highest indicated thermal efficiency of 49.1%.
